Color Watch - Pantone's4 shades of Blue

If you flip through any interior design magazine or any fashion magazine for that matter, you will find various shades of blue in it's pages. Before Pantone announced it's color of the year, my money was on blue. Last year blue was everywhere, most accessories were turquoise and accent walls were royal blue. I was surprised by Marsala, but I also have to remember that Pantone's color of the year is more fashion based than interior design based. Then I saw Pantone's 2015 Spring Palette and the first 4 colors look like this:

Blue, blue, blue and blue....I'll take it. I'm not sure if Pantone is forecasting color or reporting what's trending, but either way blue is where it's at right now. With blue trending, I feel like now is a great time to talk about blue sofas. 15 years ago, my first sofa was an Ikea Klippan with a blue sofa cover. The sofa was fun and bold but neutral at the same time. It went with everything, kinda like a good pair of jeans. The classic blue paired with the clean lines of the sofa makes for a timeless combination. Take that recipe and combine it with any of the sofa's below and you can't lose.

Now is a really good time for a new sofa when you have options like this. And 10 years from now you'll look at your beautiful blue sofa and think about how relevant it still is.
